WHORES: Why and How I Came to Fight the Establishment ReviewAuthor Larry Klayman, founder of Judicial Watch, writes an autobiographical account of his war to promote ethical behavior in politicians. Klayman gave up Judicial Watch when he ran for Senator in Florida some years ago and is trying to get it back as well as running his new organization "Freedom Watch". This book chronicles his early life and legal battles with crooked politicians and others from both parties.
I don't know of anyone else who has sued both the Clintons and the Dick Cheney besides Klayman. Klayman is generally conservative but not really a party Republican. And his positions are up-to-the-minute accurate with the current revolt among the rank and file Republicans to overthrow the corrupt neo-cons and liberals that have taken over their party. So this book is as current as possible and has just barely been published.
Because the big publishing companies that are now foreign owned and controlled have an interest in preserving the status quo, this book is not getting the press it ought to.
Yes, Larry Klayman sued his own mother - to keep his neglected grandmother alive.
But as I read this book about some incredible villains, I kept track of the names of the people who Klayman proved, many times in a court of law, to be unethical traitors. Sit down. Take a deep breath.
Page 58 details how Leon Pannetta, a Clinton official, personally obstructed justice illegally in the Ron Brown (Clinton Secretary of Commerce) matters. Leon Pannetta is now the director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Hillary Clinton personally tells Secretary Ron Brown to sell seats on the trade mission to China, breaking multiple laws and committing high treason on page 59. First lady Hillary Clinton became a Senator from New York and is currently Secretary of State.
Page 59 details charges from Ron Brown's mistress that both Clintons basically ordered a "hit" on Ron Brown. Secretary Ron Brown, the supposed victim of a plane crash, was found to have a bullet hole in his head by not just one, but three doctors but they were ordered not to investigate or perform an autopsy.
Melissa Moss who destroyed the Ron Brown papers sought by Klayman in his Freedom of Information requests is now an investment adviser hob-nobbing with the likes of Jonathan Silverman, Henry Waxman and John Dingell in an article from October 15 of this year. Guess crime does pay.
Pages 59 and 62 detail some of the claims against Harold Ickes including treason and obstructing justice. Harold Ickes is currently Oil Czar in the Obama administration.
On page 61 a Justice department official blackmails a witness. That official, Eric Holder, is now Attorney Gnereral of the United States of America.
Page 68 has Johnny Chung accusing President Bill Clinton of causing Ron Brown's death.
Page 77 has Georgew Stephenopouls lying under oath. Page 78 has James Carville sanctioned by a court for lying. Page 88 tells of 2 sitting members of the House of Representatives Barney Frank and Rep. Gunderson, both homosexuals, blackmailing Gingrich with their knowledge of Gingrich's affair with a staffer.
There are plenty of unethical and traitorous Republicans in the book also, but since they are out of power right now I haven't detailed them.
Anyway, I could go on and on. And where is the outrage? Why isn't Klayman on the Sunday morning political shows? Where is the New York TImes and the Washington Post?
Yes traitors and scum control our government and both parties. No, there is nothing you can do about it except try your best to support people like Klayman and vote in some ethical people to replace the crooks that are in charge. It will be a long and hard fight, but it must be done if we wish to have any country left at all for our children and grand-children. And thank you Larry Klayman for writing it all down and documenting it.WHORES: Why and How I Came to Fight the Establishment Overview

Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the White House, A: Humor, Blunders, and Other Oddities From the Presidential Campaign Trail ReviewForrest Gump's phrase comes to mind when reading this book, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."
Osgood has put together an excellent selection of humorous quotes and anecdotes from Truman to our current incumbent. Many of them are well known but that does not take from the joy of the book. This is a book best enjoyed if you simply deep into it. It is also a book that might be of real interest to anyone in the public light or a humorous keynote speaker as it contains some wonderful nuggets.
The most humorous elements of the book run from Harry Truman through to the Johnson/Goldwater campaign. Maybe candidates just got more wary in the more intrusive media age, but few of our most recent candidates excite humorous interest except of course Ronald Reagan.
Buy this book and place beside your bedside table. Just a few pages a night will have you sleeping happy.

The American Commonwealth ReviewJames Bryce's "The American Commonwealth" is a basic text of American government and politics, one of three such texts, the others being Hamilton, Madison, and Jay The Federalist Papers (Signet Classics), and de Tocqueville Democracy In America (Complete). These three works, two by foreigners, form the groundwork of a basic understanding of the American system of government. Such an understanding is basic to good citizenship. The lack of such an understanding is sadly demonstrated every day by America's journalists, professors, politicians, and average citizens.
Reading Bryce's "Commonwealth" seems a formidable task at the beginning, since it is two volumes with a total of over 1600 pages. Yet once you begin, Lord Bryce's style is so natural, almost conversational, and the material so interesting to anyone with the slightest interest in American history and politics (and shouldn't that include every American citizen?), that it is actually a very easy book to read.
Bryce was Scottish, born in Belfast, Ireland. He became an attorney and a professor of law at Oxford, then a member of Parliament. He was Ambassador to the United States from 1907 to 1913, became a viscount in 1914. He was very well-traveled and well-known in the US, about as well-qualified as anyone could be to write a description of the American form of government. Because of his reputation as a friend of America he had an important influence on the US entry into World War One on the Allied side.
The first volume covers the national and state governments, the second volume covers the party system, public opinion, and various aspects of American political and social life. The first edition was published in 1888, and it was last revised in 1914. Over the years Bryce made many revisions as his observations and knowledge of America broadened and deepened.
Bryce explains exactly how American government works. A listing of some of the more significant chapters will give an idea of the subjects covered:
Chapter 3: The Origins of the Constitution
Chapter 8: Why Great Men are not Chosen President
Chapter 33: The Interpretation of the Constitution
Chapter 34: The Development of the Constitution by Usage
Chapter 53: Political Parties and Their History
Chapter 78: How Public Opinion Rules in America
Chapter 84: The Tyranny of the Majority
Chapter 85: The Fatalism of the Multitude
Of special interest are three appendices. The first is a review by Bryce of the predictions of Hamilton and de Tocqueville. The second is a review of "The American Commonwealth" written in 1889 by Woodrow Wilson when Wilson was a professor of political science at Weslyan University in Connecticut. The third is a review by Lord Acton.
Bryce believed that had the Constitution been put to a popular vote in 1787 it would never have passed. As it was, the only reason the Constitution gained popular support was because of the fear of foreign powers. As Bryce puts it, in the years following the Revolution and the collapse of the Articles of Confederation, Americans felt very vulnerable to foreign intervention:
"The fear of foreign interference, the sense of weakness, both at sea and on land, against the military monarchies of Europe, was constantly before the mind of American statesmen, and made them anxious to secure at all hazards a national government capable of raising an army and navy, and of speaking with authority on behalf of the new republic."
His comments on the relationship between the Constitution, the Supreme Court, and the American people are very timely.
Of the Presidency he says, "The president has developed a capacity for becoming, in moments of national peril, something like a Roman dictator."
His description of the development of the political parties is equally timely, and is the best I have ever read.
Some final quotations from Bryce:
"Someone has said that the American government and Constitution are based on the theology of Calvin and the philosophy of Hobbes. This at least is true, that there is a hearty Puritanism in the view of human nature which pervades the instrument of 1787. It is the work of men who believed in original sin, and were resolved to leave open for transgressors no door which they could possibly shut. Compare this spirit with the enthusiastic optimism of the Frenchmen of 1789. It is not merely a difference of race temperaments; it is a difference of fundamental ideas."
He ends on this pessimistic note, echoing Benjamin Franklin:
"To expect any form of words, however weightily conceived, with whatever sanctions enacted, permanently to restrain the passions and interests of men is to expect the impossible. Beyond a certain point, you cannot protect the people against themselves any more than you can, to use a familiar American expression, lift yourself from the ground by your own bootstraps."
Highly recommended in this authoritative and economical edition.The American Commonwealth Overview

The Host and The Parasite: How Israel's Fifth Column Consumed America Review"The Host and the Parasite" is an extraordinarily important book that traces America's slide into fascism and subservience to a foreign power.
Felton argues persuasively that 3 groups have converged and come to dominate American policy for the benefit of Israel. Those 3 groups are: the neo-conservatives; the Republican evangelicals (Christian Zionists); and Jewish Zionists. He backs up his analysis with over 800 footnoted references to government, scholarly and media sources.
Felton refutes the traditional progressive view that Israel is merely a client state of America. If this is so, he asks, how has America come to pursue policies that are so utterly contrary to America's own national interest while being so highly beneficial to its junior partner?
Felton also refutes the theory that 'it's all about oil', arguing that the first Gulf War was the last American oil war and that the 2nd Gulf War ignored the interests of American oil companies, increased American oil costs and reduced American national security. How could this have happened? The 2nd war, he demonstrates, can only be adequately explained by the take-over of American foreign and domestic policy for the benefit of Israel.
Felton's book integrates a remarkable range of relevant material, including:
- the decline of American republican government from Viet Nam to the present;
- the rise of American fascism since the Reagan years;
- the rise of the pro-Israel lobby in America and its growing influence on the presidency from 1948 until now;
- the subjugation of America's Congress and Senate by the pro-Israel lobby;
- the anti-democratic philosophy of Leo Strauss and its corrosive influence on America via the neo-conservative movement;
- the growth and goals of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) and other right wing think tanks;
- PNAC's search for a new 'Pearl Harbour' to permit the restructuring of America;
- The Israeli foreign policy goal of dismembering Iraq to ensure Israeli regional domination;
- the demonization of Islam;
- the origins and rise of the religious right in America and its obsession with Israel;
- the planned attack on Iran that is being pushed by Israel and its proxies in America;
- the extremely gloomy prospects for America to "return to normal".
Felton is generous in his praise of others who have explored some of this material such as John Mearsheimer, Stephen Walt, Jimmy Carter and Paul Findley. Felton's book, however, is a far more comprehensive study of the subject and integrates a much fuller range of issues and data to demonstrate the self-destructive nature of American policy in our time.
For those who imagine that America's Mid East policy is motivated by "love of justice and democracy", Felton reviews America's shameful and ongoing record of supporting dictators and overthrowing democratically elected 3rd world governments.
For those who pretend that America's Mid East policy is intended to serve America's self-interest, Felton reviews the appalling cost to America of its pro-Israel policy: thousands of dead American soldiers; trillions of dollars of debt incurred over the years due to higher oil costs and ruinous wars; the enmity of the world; and the destruction of the American system of republican government.
And what has America gained by supporting Israel? Nothing, Felton argues, that can begin to justify the appalling cost.
The book's cover (see above) makes it clear that 'Israel's 5th column' includes secular neo-con crooks like Rumsfeld and Cheney; Christian evangelical maniacs like Bush; and Jewish Zionist power players like Perle, Feith and Wolfowitz. Together, these people have torn up the American Constitution, dedicated America to endless war, bankrupted the country and endangered its security while cynically promoting the interests of a foreign power.

John C. Calhoun: Selected Writings and Speeches (Conservative Leadership Series) Review~John C. Calhoun: Selected Writings and Speeches~ is an anthology of writings of the antebellum South Carolina statesmen. It's perhaps the definitive abridged compilation of Calhoun's writings. The alternative of course is the broad collection by historian Clyde Wilson, entitled The Papers of John C. Calhoun. However, as a practical matter, sorting through the cream of the crop is an exercise that takes a lot of work. Dr. Cheek, however, has sorted through Calhoun's writings, and put together a most remarkable collection of Calhoun's writings. Besides, the Disquisition and the Discourse, he features good pieces such as Calhoun's Exposition and Protest, his Speech on the Force Bill, and his letter to James Hamilton describing the nature of the Union, among several other selections.
Calhoun's Disquisition and Discourse are profoundly reflective political thought that typify what historians characterize as the South Atlantic Republicanism. Calhoun's concept of concurrent majorities and his understanding of the American federal system are deeply reflective. Undoubtedly, if we are to ever initiate a meaningful renaissance of federalism and implement needed constitutional reforms within the United States, such a move necessitates the revival of the statesmanship of John Calhoun. So, Dr. Cheek's books are a good place to start.
All things considered, if you're interested in antebellum politics, political science, or exploring the statesmanship of South Carolina statesmen John C. Cahoun, then Cheek's anthology is definitely worth your consideration. Please consider reading this book in tandem with his other book Calhoun and Popular Rule, which offers sound exegesis of the Disquisition and Discourse.John C. Henry Clay: Statesman for the Union ReviewThe New York Times has called Robert V. Remini "our foremost Jacksonian scholar". No matter how one feels about Remini's scholarship or historical interpretations, he is undeniably the most prolific Jacksonian historian of our time - our any other time, for that matter.
In reading his celebrated three-volume biography of Andrew Jackson and other related works, I'd come to think of Remini as something of a "Jackson bigot." The reverence Remini has for Jackson practically oozes from the pages of his books, while the many injustices and dubious actions undertaken by the seventh president throughout his lifetime are treated as the unfortunate, but excusable episodes of a passionate and often impulsive man (some examples might include: the Treaty of Fort Jackson and other Indian treaties; the unauthorized invasion of Florida in 1818 and his conduct during that campaign; the forced removal of the Cherokees from Georgia; etc.). Indeed, I have often thought that had Remini lived in Jackson's lifetime he may have supplanted Francis Blair as editor of the pro-Jackson newspaper, the Washington Globe. Thus, given such an undisguised admiration for Jackson and his trenchant democratic principles, I was curious to see how Remini would treat his arch-villain: the indomitable Henry Clay of Kentucky.
To my great surprise and pleasure, Remini presents an exceptionally balanced and thorough account of "Prince Hal" and his feud with Andrew Jackson and the Democrats as nominal head of the Whig party. The author pays homage to Clay's tremendous oratorical and political abilities and openly laments the fact that Clay's overweening desire for the presidency ultimately deprived the nation of his services in that office.
Clay's career in national pubic service was long and extraordinarily influential from start to finish. Beginning in 1811, when he was sworn in as a freshman Congressmen, he was immediately elected Speaker of the House owing to his leadership position in a group of young, nationalistic and anti-British Republicans known as the "War Hawks." Remini credits Clay with single handedly changing the fundamental nature of the Speaker's position (which he held for longer than anyone in the 19th century), turning it from that of mundane legislative traffic cop to a leadership role of setting the political agenda and steering national policy. Clay reveled in the rough-and-tumble nature of the House, where his quick wit and speaking abilities were distinct competitive advantages, and openly preferred it to the more rarified and sedate proceedings of the Senate. And when circumstances ultimately brought Clay's talents to the US Senate, he again shaped that body in his own image, ushering in a period of great political debate that is still considered its "golden era."
In the end, Clay failed in his endeavor to shape national domestic policy to include federally funded internal improvements and, much to his chagrin and Remini's, he never had the opportunity to leave his imprint on the executive branch. Nevertheless, as Remini's superb biography makes clear, the legislative branch was Henry Clay's domain, and during his remarkable career in that body (off and on from 1811 to 1852) he did more to refine and redefine the tone, process and importance of Congress than any other American statesman in history.Henry Clay: Statesman for the Union Overview
