Time President Obama: The Path to The White House ReviewWow. I had pre-ordered this last month, and hadn't expected it's release for several more weeks. What a nice surprise that is has been released early. I guess Time pushed out in time for Christmas. Anyway, this is great book to remember a historic election. The book is only 96 pages, and it is divided into 10 chapters. My favorite chapters are: "How he learned to win", and "Defeating Hillary". The book gives a nice timeline of Barack's rise to power. It is loaded with never seen before, behind the scenes photo's of Barack and his family. You get to see Barack Obama "the family man", as well as Barack Obama "the politician". Even if you didn't support Obama, this is still a great keepsake to remember an election like no other. Anything Book, Executive Series: Green ReviewI purchased one of these journals 3 or 4 years ago, and I've long since filled it up and moved on. Since there's no content in this book, I'll comment on it's "feel." It's a good size, as are most of the ones listed under "blank books" as subject words, for travel or storage in a briefcase or handbag. The cover is not soft; rather, it's kind of like a football, if you've ever held one. Hard, but slightly giving, with a rough but not unpleasant texture to it. The lines are well spaced and there's no "frilly" art/design on the pages, so it's equally suited for a man or a woman.Anything Book, Executive Series: Green Overview

Anything Book, Classic Exec Series: Blue (Classic Executive) ReviewI just received my Blue Blank Book today and I would have to say I'm ver pleased. When you first look at it, it seems almost a bit too thin; but as you flip through the pages you start to see it has plenty of room for all of your writings. When you first open this book, you realize that the title "Blank Book" means just that: Blank Book. There is absolutely no writing or inscriptions from front to back - minus the very back of the book at the bottom where there is a small title saying "Anything Book" along with an ISBN number. The inside of the book, along with the first page is goldish yellow in color that is thicker than the rest of all the pages. This is then follwed by 160 pages of white, clean paper - perfect for writing. The pages seem thick enough so that a pen will not bleed through. The seperating lines are a light gray color about a 1/4" in seperation.

Just 2 Seconds ReviewGavin DeBecker burst onto the mainstream scene with his groundbreaking work 'The Gift of Fear.' DeBecker and Associates have shaken the firmament again with 'Just 2 Seconds.' Just as one cannot go to a serious training event today and not escape a reference to 'The Gift of Fear,' one will not be able to train next year and escape a reference to this new work.
The value of this work is threefold. First, the essential lessons of their extensive research are distilled and well presented in the first part of the book. Leveraging their previous work, and referencing other luminaries in the field of combat psychology (i.e. Col Grossman), the chapters are well delineated and the topics are well beyond those normally found in Protection 101. For example, discussion on Zen and the Art of Protection (ZAP) is not something found elsewhere, and yet is deadly serious.
Second, insights into DeBecker and Associates' own training academy are given to provide a foil for professionals in the protection field to compare/contrast their own programs to. One's own training may be better, worse, or different, but examination allows for a reevaluation of the 'why' behind the 'what and how.' It also gives insight into how the conclusions of their work are translated into practice.
Finally, the compendium provides the research material that supports the conclusions in the first chapters. This alone is amazing, since it is the first summary of attacks against principles (over a 40 year timespan) that I have ever seen.
This is not a beginner's book. Someone interested in protection will not find this a Protection 101 skillset reference. However, make no mistake. This is Protection 521 - this is the graduate material. I firmly believe that 'Just 2 Seconds' will quickly become the new equivalent to the 'Book of Five Rings' for those in the field. It cannot be too highly recommended, and likely those already in possession will be very reluctant to lend out their copy.Just 2 Seconds Overview
