Executive: A Novel ReviewA friend of mine recommended this book, to keep me company on a business trip. I followed his suggestion reluctantly, as I was in no mood for any more corporate stories, featuring perfectly dressed business professionals acting all politically correct, trying to make ends meet in this economy, etc., etc.
I boarded my flight, took a deep breath, and started to read. More deep breaths followed, because the story caught me in its grip and held me tight in a rollercoaster of adventures I did not expect to find in these pages. Hats off to the author of this one. After reading this book, the current recession doesn't seem so senseless, so unexplainable. The ugly yet unseen, disastrous face of Corporate America presented in this novel makes real-life collapses such as Enron, and Lehman Brothers, and others like them seem more believable. The "business omerta" is broken and the spectators are frozen. Could this happen in real life corporate? I would say yes, definitely yes.
Despite all this, the book is, first and foremost, a captivating techno-thriller, engaging the reader in a breath-taking adventure that will keep you turning epage after epage.

Wow, I just have to say that this is one of the nicest things I have ever owned... It's a real treasure! We're having a new home built with the library/study/office that I have always dreamed of and our shelves will really look 1st Class with this collection to start things off. Best of all, it's Vince Flynn... One of the most popular writers of our time. Of course, I've already read all of his books so I'll be keeping these copies in pristine condition!

Actions".In what looks like a robbery-attempted rape a white house staffer is killed.After an investigation it appears the she is a deep cover for Israel.Our hero Scott Roark,recognizes the killer's style to be the elusive assassin that he has been pursuing.Roark finally discovers clues from the assassins past
to discover his identity.
In the meantime the administration is reeling from another crisis.President Henry Lamden suffers a near fatal heart attack
and Vice-President Morgan Taylor has to become the acting President.The White House stays under attack from talk show
host Elliott Strong.He is trying to make General Robert Woodley Bridgeman the populist nominee for President and Speaker of the House Duke Patrick the Vice-Presidential nominee.
Air Force One is sabotaged and crashes near a terrorist base in Indonesia.President Morgan and several key figures in the Administration are held hostage by the terrorists.
This is an exciting book that has many exciting situations.I

Executive Power (FLYNN, VINCE) ReviewFor those who love the geopolitical accuracy of Tom Clancy and the high-flying suspensful action of Robert Ludlum, Vince Flynn successfully creates a balance of the two in his latest novel, Executive Power.
Executive Power brings Mitch Rapp back once more, but this time around, things are much different. Not only has his cover as an assassin and counterterrorism operative been blown, but he's also married to an inquisitive and beautiful reporter who wants nothing more than her new husband to leave his dangerous life at the CIA behind.
Flynn's latest novel, which is among his best to date (the best, in my opinion, being The Third Option), involves two different scenarios: an American family taken hostage by Muslim radicals in the Phillipines, and an honorable but ruthless assassin playing a deadly geopolitical game, his ultimate goal being the establishment of a free and peaceful Palestinian state.
Our hero Rapp, of course, eventually becomes involved with both. Bullets fly when he attempts a hostage rescue in the Phillipines, and terrorists sweat when he tries to get to the bottom of a string of assassinations reaching from Israel to the US.
Executive Power is an incredibly well-written novel that blends incredible accuracy and amazing action and keeps the reader turning pages. My only complaint is that the novel ended too soon; one can only hope that Mitch Rapp will return soon enough to avert disaster once again.Executive Power (FLYNN, VINCE) Overview
