Technology at the Margins: How IT Meets the Needs of Emerging Markets (Microsoft Executive Leadership Series) ReviewTechnology at the Margins is a very helpful book for understanding how technology can make a difference not just in developed countries, but in countries that are less advanced on the development ladder. It may seem counter-intuitive, but technology in some ways, may be the least expensive way for poor people to measurably improve their lives.
The book is easy to read and divided up into chapters around the pressing developmental issues that technology can help solve, with helpful summaries at the end of each chapter.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is way too short. The authors clearly know their stuff, they have great stories to tell, but the truth is, they just scratch the surface of all of the different potential applications that might be possible.
A very helpful, and dare I say it? inspiring book.
Their suggestions should be embedded in any sophisticated approach to emerging development.Technology at the Margins: How IT Meets the Needs of Emerging Markets (Microsoft Executive Leadership Series) Overview
