Judicial Impeachment: NONE CALLED FOR JUSTICE ReviewIn this book, the author goes over three impeachment trials of federal judges, dating from the 1980s. All three judges were accused by the House of Representatives, and convicted by the Senate, of having committed "high crimes and misdemeanors" while serving as judges. In all three cases, the evidence was heard by a committee of Senators, while the full Senate voted on the question of guilt or innocence. All three judges were removed from office on account of their misconduct. The three judges, and their crimes, were: Harry Claiborne, convicted of tax evasion; Alcee Hastings, convicted of various offences; and Walter Nixon, convicted of covering up his role in seeking leniency for a friend's son. Giving an analysis of each trial, the author finds in each case that there are issues not only with the defendants' behavior but with the behavior of the government as well. The book is a well-put-together narrative and should be of interest to students of the federal judiciary and the impeachment process.Judicial Impeachment: NONE CALLED FOR JUSTICE Overview
