Personal Protection at Home and Abroad: A Practical Guide for Your Security (Culture Shock Practical Guides) ReviewThe most obvious problem with this book is that is was published prior to September 11th (the publishing date from the Amazon details says 2002, but the book was copyrighted in 1997 - as seen by searching inside- and does not mention 9/11). Details such as airport security measures and regulations are therefore obselete in this copy. Needless to say, this book is in dire need of an updated version.I read this book to prepare to study abroad in Spain; however, it is written more towards professionals traveling on business rather than students or vacationers. If you travel alot for your company, the author's advice might be more helpful for you than it was for me. The personal safety tips may be useful, though most will consider the author somewhat paranoid (in his own words "I personally would rather be a bit paranoid than a bit dead.").
Personally, poor editing and therefore poor syntax and punctuation, is distracting and frustrating for a published work.
